Today we met our first goal! We made it to the 23 week mark! A friend said it perfectly yesterday when she reminded me that every day is a victory. (Thank you Tami!) Every day our little man is a little bit closer to breathing on his own. Every day he’s a little stronger. My body is already telling me that I’ve been in bed too long and my back has really been bothering me. We had to place ANOTHER IV this evening. So 7 pokes, 1 hit nerve, and three IVs later we are praying this one is a keeper! My doctors have decided that it would be best to hold off on steroids for another week. They want to be sure that I don’t develop any infections from surgery before they give them to me. Next week we will start and they will help develop our little man’s lungs. We really don’t have much else to report today and we are grateful for that! Austin and I are enjoying some Five Guys tonight while Ellie goes to Dave and Busters with grandpa Chuck and Lawanna then has a sleepover with grandpa and Grandma Johnson. Now my biggest challenge is keeping myself busy without actually being busy.![]()
One Down!
Hey girlie! I at least kinda know what you’re going through- I was on complete bed rest at Stormont Vail for about 2 1/2 weeks before Luke was born. I was there because with my complication it was only a matter of time before everything “broke loose” and I would bleed out. They had me on all kinds of meds to keep me from having contractions, and we were just trying to keep it from happening until yep, you guessed it, he could breathe on his own. We made it to 36 weeks and he was born healthy! I know God has a plan for your son also. We’ll keep praying, but you can rest assured that God is totally in control of his little life, and yours too. I’ll txt more later, have some ideas for time-passing. For now, just enjoy the extra rest. You’ll need it later when he gets here! Love you little sister!

Just found your blog yesterday and must say you are one brave young woman! My biggest problem would be seeing little Ellie and Austin – do hope they are able to visit often. I’m sure each day seems longer than the one before – Just know that our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Hang in there little Mama! Hugs ~
