As most of you know, we are now a family of five! On April 19th we welcomed our son, Emerson Charles, into the world. We were supposed to be induced that morning but when we arrived at the hospital I was already at 8cm and in active labor. I was barely feeling contractions so I’m glad we were scheduled to be at the hospital that morning. We had one scare that sent us to the OR that day but things turned around quickly and we were able to avoid having a C-Section. He arrived at 2:42pm and was 6lb 13oz.

We were really surprised to see that he was blonde as Ellie and Gran both had thick, black hair at birth. We were able to be home in time to enjoy Easter as a family which was a huge blessing.
At six days old, we took Mr. Emery on his first camping trip. That was all Austin’s idea! We decided at the last minute to pack up the camper and head to Tuttle Creek for the weekend.
Ellie and Gran got to enjoy the new bike caboose that I bought awhile back. When I say enjoy, I mean that Ellie sat in the back filing her nails while Austin pedaled them to the playground.

We packed up camp and came home just in time to celebrate some friends getting married. So far, he’s been a really easy baby and we are so thankful for that! Ellie and Gran are really enjoying having a new baby in the house.

At a month old, Emery has already experienced so much! Easter, camping, a wedding, graduations, and a birthday party just to name a few. We are currently waiting for results from his genetic test. We could be waiting another six weeks for those still. I’m pretty sure he does have Marfan Syndrome so I will be very surprised if we get negative results. If we get positive results, we will start seeing a cardiologist and other specialists.
Look at those toes!! They’re one of the reasons I believe he has Marfan Syndrome.

He’s so perfect! ❤️
